Drive, perseverance and vision are all what brought Jessica Devilbiss’ dream of some day owning her own business to fruition.  Glow Skin & Body Studio officially opened its doors in March of this year, marking the beginning of what promises to be a very successful aesthetic studio.  Jessica is like many other small business owners in that she wanted to create something that is uniquely her own; but her age and when she began her journey might surprise you!

At 24, Jessica is a seven-year veteran of the industry she has been passionate about much of her life.  Beginning with a childhood fascination with sunburns and the healing process; continuing through her teen years when she worked as a receptionist at a spa; to making a move from Idaho to Phoenix so she could attend the National Aesthetic Institute at the age of 17.  Of course in developing any business there are always a few challenges along the way.  If there is one piece of advice Jessica can offer it would be “plan for it to take longer and cost more than what you anticipate.”  Her age was one challenge she overcame.  Many who worked with Jessica throughout the building process assumed she had investors and consultants making her decisions for her.  They were surprised to find that they were just dealing with a very driven person.  One has to admire her determination, commitment to her professional goal, and passion to help others. “I love being able to help people and nothing is more rewarding than giving someone who suffers from acne the gift of healthy skin,” comments Jessica.    

Jessica had a clear vision of what she wanted Glow Skin & Body Studio to evolve into.  “I wanted to create an environment that was professional but at the same time comfortable.  It is important to me that everyone, both clients and employees, feel appreciated and welcome,” states Devilbiss.  All successful business owners try to surround themselves with team members who have common goals and are good at what they do and Jessica has done just that.  One can’t help but feel immediately welcomed by the professional and friendly staff that helps create a calm and soothing atmosphere. 

When asked what one treatment she feels everyone should have, without hesitation Jessica states, “A facial.  Everyone can benefit from a facial.  Our skin is a living organ and keeping it healthy is important.  A monthly facial will keep skin in pristine condition, not only increasing circulation for firming and toning but also exfoliating to buff fine lines.  No matter what home care you use, it never does as good of a job as what can be done in the treatment room.”  Devilbiss understands that the best marketing any business can receive is through referrals from satisfied clients.  “I want all my clients to walk away thinking of the amazing treatment they just had and how comfortable everyone made them feel, but more importantly anticipating their next visit with us.” Glow Skin & Body Studio prides itself on customizing every treatment to meet their client’s needs.  No two people are alike, and we all deserve to Shine, Gleam and Radiate!
