Reality Show Reveals Behind the Scenes Drama of Valley Magazine
SCOTTSDALE, AZ – October 27, 2009
Perfectify Magazine, one of the Valley’s leading self-improvement magazines, is venturing into the world of reality television by filming a pilot episode that reveals the chaotic, dramatic and often hilarious process of publishing a magazine.
Perfectify Magazine is a Valley based, woman owned self-improvement magazine, featuring a fresh mix of wellness, fashion, beauty and fitness articles in each full-color issue.
Kristi Larsen, publisher of Perfectify, has spent the past six months with her staff filming the pilot for a reality series titled “Making a Magazine”. With the help of the show’s creative producer, lifestyle coach Michael Lindstrom, the pilot will soon be shopped to networks and distribution companies in Los Angeles. If picked up by a network, “Making a Magazine” could be developed into a full-length reality series.
With a very large sum of capital invested in the pilot, Larsen and her staff are hopeful the network executives will see the potential for it to become a huge hit with reality TV fans.
“Most people have no idea what is involved in putting together a magazine,” says Larsen. “Our pilot episode gives people an intriguing behind-the-scenes look at how stressful, exciting, and hilarious the whole process really is!”
The pilot episode also follows Larsen as she balances her personal life and her other two businesses, Chandler Personal Training and East Valley
Boot Camp.
Says Larsen, “We know there is a viewer base out there for this series. Networks and viewers are looking for reality shows outside of Los Angeles and New York City.” Larsen adds, “We definitely feel the Valley is the perfect setting for reality television’s next big hit – and we want to be it!”

Local Fitness Trainer Triumphs Over Spinal Surgery to Launch Magazine for Women
CHANDLER, AZ – July 13, 2009
Kristi Larsen, Certified Fitness Trainer, owner of East Valley Bootcamp and Editor in Chief of Perfectify Magazine, just celebrated a very special milestone. On July 11, 2000, Larsen was on an operating table being cut open head-to-toe, enduring a grueling surgery to have seven vertebrae fused together in an effort to correct idiopathic scoliosis – a condition she was diagnosed with at the age of 12. On July 12, 2003, Larsen was on stage at a bodybuilding fitness show competing in her very first figure competition.
Pushing herself through three years of emotional and physical recovery, Larsen fought her way back to health. Through her personal experiences with tragedy and triumph, Larsen has now made it her mission to inspire and motivate other women to live their best life. Out of this passion was born Perfectify Magazine, launched by Larsen in September 2007.
“Perfectify”, a term coined by Larsen, means:
1. to conform absolutely to the description or definition of an ideal type.
2. to vary, adjust, shape, modify accurately, or exactly in every detail.
3. to bring to perfection; make flawless or without blemish.
4. to bring nearer to perfection; improve.
5. to bring to completion; finish.
6. to be or become PERFECT FOR YOU
Since its launch, Perfectify Magazine has enjoyed rave reviews from readers and advertisers alike. The mission of Perfectify Magazine is to inform its readers about the benefits of self-improvement, a healthy lifestyle, ambition, individual excellence, success, and all-around betterment of one’s self. Perfectify features a fresh mix of self-improvement, beauty and fitness articles in each issue, appealing to a wide demographic locally and nationally.
Says Larsen, “My desire is to educate and encourage people to always do the very best with what you have to work with. Everyone has challenges, but none of your issues should keep you from achieving everything you desire in life.”
Always looking for more ways to challenge herself, Larsen is also the owner of East Valley Bootcamp, a successful outdoor fitness bootcamp with locations throughout the Valley. Larsen pushes her bootcamp students to success, drawing from her personal experiences for strength and guidance.
“I’ve been in a wheelchair and I’ve been on the stage of a fitness competition – I’ve found my personal victory,” says Larsen. “Through my magazine and my fitness training, I want to help people find their own personal victory – whatever that looks like to them.”
Perfectify Magazine is available online, via email subscription and at Valley locations such as AJ’s Fine Foods and CVS. For more information, visit www.perfectify.com.
